Dynamic Connections' unique role in your
homeschooling plan is to provide a dynamic learning environment for your child, which serves
to remediate their autism while also providing daily instruction in two of the required academic
subjects. We will do this two ways: The first is to establish and maintain it in the classroom.
We will be using Saxon Math for math and Reading Mastery for language arts, both adjusted to
fit the needs of children on the autism spectrum. The second is to help you establish a similar
environment in the home. To find out how you can do this, please visit our RDI page.
In general, a typical day at Dynamic Connections School would follow the schedule outlined
below. However, this is an estimate. We will be flexible based on the needs of the children.
8:30 Drop off and personal organization
9:00 Brain Gym activity
9:15 Morning Gathering
9:45 Language Arts
10:45 Snack
11 Relationship work (with adults or peers as appropriate)
11:30 Math
12:30 Lunch
1 Brain Gym Activity
1:15 Once -a -week subjects (Science, Social Studies, or Art)
2 Closing Gathering
2:15 Clean -up and personal organization
2:30 Pick up
Math and Language Arts will be taught daily. Time is allocated each day for a subject that is
only taught once a week, such as science and social studies.
A report is provided to the parents twice a month, which includes the lessons taught and the
grades given. We welcome any comments and suggestions parents have that would help our
teaching staff.
We will be taping classroom activities once regular structures are in place. We will use these to
illustrate strategies and assist parents in establishing a dynamic learning environment in the
home.
