MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JANUARY 13, 2011
additional retaining walls will be necessary to carry the change in
topography.
Knudsen asked if Eberhausen had reviewed the City Engineer's report.
Eberhausen replied that she had and they would comply with his
recommendations. She also noted that it is her understanding that the
volume of the pond exceeded requirements.
A representative of 916 School District asked if there would be any
request of them to provide ponding on the 916 property. Eberhausen
replied that there would not.
There was no one else from the general public present wishing to
comment on this matter.
Duray noted that the St. Jude projects have always been as presented,
complied with planning and engineering recommendations, and noted this
one fits the master plan for the site. Duray stated that he was in support of
the project as proposed.
Knudsen asked if there were any concerns in complying with planning,
engineering, and Watershed recommendations. Eberhausen replied that
there were no such concerns. With regard to the Planner's
recommendations, Eberhausen reported that additional lighting would be
limited to the new parking and pedestrian areas and would be directed
away from surrounding properties. There are no changes proposed for
signage, other than some additional parking directional signage.
Knudsen felt the plan was a good one, but noted that there are some
drainage issues to be finalized with the City Engineer and the Watershed.
Duray suggested that retaining walls be minimized to the extent possible.
Duray recommended approval of the Amendment to PUD Permit to allow
a three -level addition of approximately 20,000 square feet consisting of
manufacturing and office space to the existing Phase I building as
requested by St. Jude Medical, One St. Jude Drive, subject to compliance
with the recommendations of the City Planner, City Engineer, and the
Watershed District.
Motion seconded by Knudsen.
Motion carried 5 0.
