W9 7 Cana%
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766 -4029 FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www.cl.lItUe•-canadanrn.us
MEMORANDUM
Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Cleric
DATE: February 17, 2011
RE: Temporary On -Sale Liquor License
St. John's Church Silent Auction April 29, 2011
COUNCIL
Ricl< Montour
John Rcis
Michael McGraw
Shelly Boss
ADMINISTRATOR
Jool R. Manson
St. John's Church is requesting approval of a Temporary Liquor License for their Silent Auction
to be held on Friday, April 29, 2011. Sheriff's Background Cheeks are satisfactory and a
Certificate of Liquor Liability Insurance has been received.
As you will recall, in July of 2010, the Council adopted rules governing the sale of alcohol in
conjunction with temporary liquor licenses issued as part of the Canadian Days Celebration.
During the discussion of these rules, the Council indicated that the rules should be implemented
with other temporary liquor licenses issued, if deemed appropriate. I have attachecl a copy of the
rules as well as the Council minutes relative to this issue.
Given the type of event (Silent Auction Dinner) that St. John's will be holding, staff does not
believe that these additional rules are nceessary.
Staff is recommending approval of the Temporary Liquor License for St. John's as requested.
1
MAYOR
Bill Blesener
