MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 9, 2010
ADJOURN
Peehmann indicated that one alternative may be an electronic display sign,
but noted that this would not be feasible given the number of tenant
displays that would have to scroll through. Fischer agreed and felt that the
increased size was a reasonable alternative to two pylon signs for this
property. Fischer indicated that while he has no problem with what is
being proposed, he would have preferred to discuss options with the
applicant.
Pechmann recommended approval of the Amendment to PUD Permit for
expansion of freestanding sign by an additional 84 square feet for 2900
Rice Street, Market Place Shopping Center based on the following:
*The signage as proposed is more in line with the City's
Architectural Guidelines;
*With the addition of the 84 square feet of additional signage, the
pylon will have 8 feet of clearance thus not impacting traffic
visibility;
*The external size of the sign is not being increased;
*The property owner acknowledges that given the size of the pylon
sign on Rice Street, he is foregoing the right to have a pylon sign
on Little Canada Road, thus limiting the property to one pylon
sign.
Motion seconded by Barraclough.
Motion carried 5 0.
TERMS OF The City Clerk reminded Dan Knudsen and Tom Duray that their
OFFICE terms of office expire December 31, 2010. Should they seek
reappointment to another tern, a letter of interest should be submitted by
the first week in December.
Pechmann recommended the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Hall.
Motion carried 5 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:07 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Clan r
City Clerk
5
18
