2011 GOAL REVIEW WORKSHOP <br />Twenty -one participants participated in this year's goal setting session. 2010 goals were <br />reviewed, and it was the consensus of those present that 5 of the 2010 goals should be carried <br />forward to 2011. Participants then offered their suggestions for additional goals that the City <br />should accomplish during the year 2011 and beyond. <br />Each person ranked their top six goals from the list of 26 possible goals generated at this <br />workshop. The rankings assigned 6 points for the top goal priority, 5 points for the second, 4 for <br />the third, etc. Tabulations were done based upon the total points received for each goal. <br />Tabulations were broken down by elected officials, non - elected officials, and a total for all <br />participants. <br />The 2010 Goals that will be carried forward are as follows: <br />> Continue to move forward with new Public Works Garage; <br />> Pursue shared multi - family patrol position; <br />> Evaluate /implement video surveillance program to enhance crime prevention <br />efforts /other possible uses; <br />> Complete streetscape plan for Little Canada Road; <br />> Develop fee schedule for fire re- inspections <br />The additional 2011 Goals are as follows: <br />> Develop long -term financial plan that maintains present levels of public service; <br />> Market the City's Rice Street/Highway 36/Viking Drive site; <br />> Upgrade Web Site /Social Media; <br />> Review City's Reserve Policy (CIP, Enterprise Funds, etc.) -City's dependence on <br />LGA/MVHC to be zero; <br />> Develop long -term strategic plan for fire fighting services; <br />> Evaluate renewal options for Organized Collection Contract; <br />> Conduct City-wide survey of both residents and business owners <br />The City Administrator and City staff will put together work plans for accomplishing these <br />goals. Work plans will be presented to the Council for their review and input. <br />The goal setting session was adjourned at 7:00 p.m. <br />22 <br />
