INFORMATION UPDATE FARMERS' MARKET MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA APRIL 27, 2011 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 27th day of April, 2011 in the Conference Room of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the following members of the City Council were present at roll call: CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Council Member Council Member Council Member Council Member ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Parks & Rec. Dir. City Clerk Mr. Bill Blesener Ms. Shelly Boss Mr. John Keis Mr. Mike McGraw Mr. Rick Montour Mr. Joel R. Hanson Mr. Jim Morelan Ms. Kathy Glanzer The purpose of this evening's workshop meeting is to conduct an information update between the City Council and staff. The Parks & Recreation Director reported that the Parks & Rec Department will be coordinating a farmers' market this summer. He reported that the proposal for the farmers' market came from the manager at The Mayfield. This person had already done some prework for the market with The Saxon Lanes, arranging for the use of a portion of their parking lot and bathroom facilities within the building. The Director reported that the manager will be assisting the Parks & Rec Department with this venture. The farmers' market will be held on Monday mornings from June 2011' through September 26'1'. These dates should not conflict with farmers' markets held in neighboring cities. Information /application packets have been sent out to vendors. The Director also noted that a PUD Permit will be required for the farmers' market and this will be processed during the May planning cycle. Boss suggested that the Donut Hut be contacted to determine if they wanted to sell donuts at the farmers' market.
