The City Council expressed support for the applicant's freestanding sign expansion to approximately 484 square feet (from its current 400 square feet), with a series of comments related to design and materials. The applicant was instructed to redesign the sign consistent with those comments and resubmit to the Council. The Council's direction for design and materials is summarized as requesting: • a consistent dark background • more consistency with color of sign messages • brick wrapping the poles A new sign design has been submitted for Council review. The proposed design shows a consistent dark green background, with sign messages a consistent lighter yellow, the exceptions being "DealsMart" and "NAPA" which rely on specific corporate color images. The proposed materials are not consistent with the request made by the Council in November. The applicant proposed to wrap both the metal poles and the rock -faced block base with "Acrylic Stucco ", also commonly called "Dryvit ", or "EIFS ". Although the photo rendering of the proposed sign does not show it, this treatment is detailed in the accompanying construction drawings. 4
