We sincerely thank Ruth <br />for her years of dedicated service to the City. <br />As you may recall when 2011 appointments to the Commission were considered, the City <br />received 11 applications (3 from incumbents) for 3 Commission vacancies. At that time <br />the 3 incumbents were appointed to fill these vacancies. Rather than advertise the <br />vacancy caused by Ruth's resignation, City staff felt it appropriate to consider the 8 <br />people who expressed interest in the recent vacancies, all of whom were interviewed by <br />the Parks Commission Chair and myself. Those individuals are Linda Beaudoin, Samuel <br />Espey, Carl Gerke, Jeffrey I-Ieiklce, Ronald I- Iorwath, David Miller, Terrence Peterson, <br />and Kristen Stromquist (applications attached). <br />Based on the previous interviews it is the recommendation of the Comm ission Chair and <br />myself that Jeff Hendee be appointed to fill Ruth Steinwall's term on the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission. That term extends through December 31, 2013. <br />1 <br />
