Manson <br />www.ei.litlie-eanada.tnn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />DATE: June 16, 2011 <br />RE: Temporary Liquor Licenses — Little Canada Recreation Association <br />July 29 -31, 2011- Canadian Days VolleyBall & KittenBall <br />Sept. 17, 2011 — Kickball Tournament <br />Oct. 28, 2011 — Halloween Dance <br />The Little Canada Recreation Association (LCRA) has made application for Temporary <br />On -Sale Liquor Licenses for the above events. <br />In July of2010, "suggested rules" (attached) were adopted by the Council relative to the <br />sale of alcohol at the Canadian Days Celebration. On May 31, 2011 Council Members <br />Montour and Keis and 1 met with the LCRA Board of Directors to review and discuss <br />these rules. Based on those discussions, LCRA has submitted a letter (attached) outlining <br />their plan to increase security and safety at Canadian Days. <br />It is staff's recommendation that the Temporary Liquor Licenses be approved subject to <br />LCRA enforcing the security and safety plan that they outlined in the letter for their <br />tournaments - Canadian Days VolleyBall & KittenBall "l'ournaments and Kickball <br />Tournament. <br />Application materials are in order and the appropriate Liquor Liability Insurance <br />Certificates have been submitted. <br />cc: LCRA <br />1 <br />
