Hanson <br />Because the nature of this business and the items to be stored fire access roads are <br />necessary. Fire department access roads are required to be a minimum of 20 feet in width. <br />Fire department access roads shall not be obstructed in any manner. Dead -end fire <br />apparatus access roads in excess of 150 feet in length shall be provided with an approved <br />area for turning around fire apparatus. The required turning radius of a fire access road <br />shall be determined the fire chief. <br />The following are the Minnesota State Fire Code requirements for outside storage of <br />combustibles. <br />1. Outside storage of combustible materials shall not be located within 10 feet of a <br />property line. <br />Exceptions: <br />a. The separation distance is allowed to be reduced to 3 feet for storage not exceeding 6 <br />feet in height. <br />b. The separation distance is allowed to be reduced when the fire code official determines <br />that no hazard to the adjoining property exists. <br />2. Combustible materials stored or displayed outside of buildings that are protected by <br />automatic sprinklers shall not be stored or displayed under nonsprinklered eaves, <br />canopies or other projections or overhangs. <br />3. Storage in the open shall not exceed 20 feet in height. <br />15 <br />
