MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 20, 2011
TEXT
AMENDMENT
ON VARIANCE
STANDARDS
Blesener noted that the Council has questions and concerns about this
application, and the applicant is not present. Keis expressed concern that
the applicant is not following the conditions of the existing PUD Permit.
The Planner noted that the applicant is the tenant under the existing PUI)
Permit. Keis noted that the property is fairly hidden, but would become
visible from Ryan Industrial Park depending on the height of storage piles.
The City Administrator indicated that the existing PUI) allows a storage
height of 9.5 feet and an outdoor storage area of 220 by 100 feet for
lumber storage. If those conditions are being exceeded, the property is out
of compliance. The Administrator indicated that those dimensions were
made clear at the time they were approved. The Administrator indicated
that if the Council has questions of the applicant, it would be appropriate
to table action on this matter until the applicant is present. It was the
consensus of the Council that the matter should be tabled until its second
meeting in July when the City Planner is present. To do so would require
the applicant to sign a waiver relative to 60 -day processing requirements.
If the applicant refuses to sign the waiver, the matter can be placed on the
.luly 13Th agenda for denial.
McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -6 -118 — CONTINUING THE PUBLIC
HEARING AND TABLING ACTION ON TIIE APPLICATION FOR
AMENDMENT TO PUD PERMIT FOR PERMANENT OUTDOOR
STORAGE OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AS WELL AS
APPLICATION FOR AN EXTENSION OF THE TIME PERIOD FOR
PUD PERMIT RELATED TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDING
EXPANSION AT 3213 COUNTRY DRIVE, PALLET SERVICE
CORPORATION, UNTIL THE JULY 27, 2011 COUNCIL MEETING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution adopted.
Mayor Blesener noted that the Planning Commission has tabled
action on a proposed Text Amendment related to the variance
standards in the Little Canada Zoning Code until their next regularly
held meeting. Therefore, action on this matter by the Council should be
tabled until it has a recommendation from the Planning Commission.
Ms. Boss introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
23
7
