MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />AUGUST 4, 2011 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 4th day of <br />August, 2011, in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair <br />Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dan Slain <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Director <br />DOTTY Chair Fahey read a letter from Dotty Norgard announcing her resignation from <br />NORGARD the City and informing the Parks & Recreation Commission of her pleasure in <br />RESIGNATION working with them over the past few years. <br />MINUTES The minutes from the June 2, 2011, meeting were approved as submitted. <br />FARMERS The Director reported about the Farmers Market season is about half way through. <br />MARKET Thus far, the market has been fairly successful, but it will be a matter of time <br />PROGRESS before it catches on. The Director noted that City staff has worked diligently in <br />REPORT establishing and making sure the Market has been successful, with a great deal of <br />help from the manager at The Mayfield. The Director encouraged Commissioners to <br />visit the market before the end of the 2011 season. <br />WORKSHOP The Director reminded the Commission of the joint workshop with the City Council <br />WITH THE on Wednesday, August 10th, at 6:00 p.m. He noted that the proposed agenda <br />CITY COUNCIL includes items of discussion identified by the Commission as well as some <br />additional items added by City Staff. The Director reported that the City <br />Administrator had a meeting with representatives of Canadian Days on their <br />Spooner Park request, and there will be a couple of representatives from Canadian <br />Days at the workshop. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
