MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />AUGUST 10, 2011 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a joint workshop meeting of the <br />City Council and the Parks & Recreation Commission of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 10th day of August, 2011 in the <br />Conference Room of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in <br />said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Ms. Shelly Boss <br />Council Member Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br />PARKS & REC <br />COMMISSION: Chair Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Commissioner Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Commissioner Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Parks & Rec Director Mr. Jim Morelan <br />Parks Consultant Mr. Bill Sanders <br />City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />It was noted that the purpose of this workshop meeting is for joint <br />discussion by the City Council and the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />on a number of parks- related issues. <br />TROUT The first item of discussion relates to status of the Trout Brook Trail <br />BROOK project. Bill Sanders quickly reviewed trail location. McGraw asked <br />TRAIL if the portion of the trail through the City of St. Paul has regional trail <br />status. Sanders replied that it did. With regard to the portion of trail <br />through Little Canada, there are existing sections of trail that would need <br />to be upgraded in order to meet regional trait status, and new sections that <br />would have to be constructed. Sanders suggested that the County be <br />approached to see if they will take over this project. With the County <br />taking the lead on the project, it would be more likely to gain regional trail <br />
