MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 24, 2011 CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS POTENTIAL PURCHASE OF 3046 LABORE ROAD FINALIZATION BY CITY STAFF, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator requested that the Council convene into closed session to discuss the potential purchase of 3046 LaBore Road as authorized under State Statute. He indicated that the property is in foreclosure, and that a portion of this property is part of the City's future trail development plans for the area. Purchase of the property provides the City with an opportunity to gain control of the site and obtain the land needed for trail. The Administrator noted that as required by State Statute, the closed session would be tape recorded and the tape retained for a period of eight years. If the Council authorizes an offer and the offer is then accepted by the bank, the purchase would be presented to the Council for approval at a subsequent meeting. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2 011 -8 -170 - TEMPORARILY ADJOURNING THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND CONVENING INTO CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS THE POTENTIAL PURCHASE OF 3046 LABORE ROAD The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The Council convened into closed session at 9:21 p.m. Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2011-8-172 — ADJOURNING THE CLOSED SESSION AND RECONVENING THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
