MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 24, 2011 <br />CLOSED <br />SESSION TO <br />DISCUSS <br />POTENTIAL <br />PURCHASE OF <br />3046 <br />LABORE <br />ROAD <br />FINALIZATION BY CITY STAFF, AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE <br />CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator requested that the Council convene into <br />closed session to discuss the potential purchase of 3046 LaBore <br />Road as authorized under State Statute. He indicated that the property <br />is in foreclosure, and that a portion of this property is part of the City's <br />future trail development plans for the area. Purchase of the property <br />provides the City with an opportunity to gain control of the site and obtain <br />the land needed for trail. The Administrator noted that as required by <br />State Statute, the closed session would be tape recorded and the tape <br />retained for a period of eight years. If the Council authorizes an offer and <br />the offer is then accepted by the bank, the purchase would be presented to <br />the Council for approval at a subsequent meeting. <br />Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2 011 -8 -170 - TEMPORARILY ADJOURNING <br />THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND <br />CONVENING INTO CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS THE <br />POTENTIAL PURCHASE OF 3046 LABORE ROAD <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Council convened into closed session at 9:21 p.m. <br />Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011-8-172 — ADJOURNING THE CLOSED <br />SESSION AND RECONVENING THE SPECIAL COUNCIL <br />MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0).
