Attached is a bid tabulation of those bids. The bids contained two project components — Base Bid A for bituminous work and Base Bid B for boardwalk construction and plantings. Based on the bids received, discussions with the low bidders, and reference checks, both the Parks Commission as well as staff recommends the following bid awards: Base Bid A be awarded to Koffman & McNamara in the amount of $24,154.00; Base Bid B be awarded to Wruck Excavating in the amount of $38,553.50. The Walter Street Trail Connection is a project that has been identified for the past several years, and it was inadvertently deleted from the Capital Improvement Fund. It is the City Administrator's recommendation that funding for this work come from the Infrastructure Capital Improvement Fund. Little Canada is responsible for approximately 60% of the total cost ($62,707.50) of this project with Maplewood paying approximately 40 %. The actual breakdowns by city are identified in the Joint Powers Agreement between the two cities that Little Canada approved on January 9, 2008. It should be noted that bids for this project came in substantially less than the project estimate of $162,296.00.
