Both the Parks & Recreation Commission and City staff recommended calling for bids for this work. The result of the bid call is as follows, and the bid summary is attached: Killmer Electric Forest Lake Contracting Electric Resource Contractors $65,900.00 $67,200.00 $67,600.00 In addition to the lighting replacement at the hockey rink, City staff would like to have the electrical lines to the warming house buried. The line from the first utility pole on the west side of the drive to the warming house would be buried, and the pole on the east side of the drive removed. Electric Resource Contractors included the cost of this work in their $67,600.00 bid even though this work was not included in the bid spec. A quote was obtained from Killmer Electric for this additional work in the amount of $1,250.00. Power line burying was not included in Forest Lake Contracting's bid. Therefore, Killmer Electric is still the low bidder at $67,150 ($65,900 + $1,250). Staff recommends awarding the low bid of Killmer Electric for the Spooner Park Tennis Court and Old Fire Barns Hockey Rink lighting work and line burying. The cost of this work is within budget ($72,000) and would be paid for from the Capital Improvement Budget.
