515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www.ci.little-canada.mn.us
June 11, 2008
To: Joel Hanson, City Administrator and Planning Commission
From: Jim Lee, Deputy Fire Marshal
MAYOR
Bill Blesener
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
Barbara Allan
John Keis
Michael McGraw
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Re: Russ Fisher CUP 3176, 3178, 3180 Ryan Lane
I met with Russ Fisher today regarding the fire access to these properties. I requested the
parking of vehicles to the rear of 3176 Ryan Lane to be as follows. Vehicles may be
parked four wide and three deep to the far east end of the property. Vehicle parking may
be allowed one on each side of the property next to the fences with a drive lane in the
middle to allow access. This will allow for an approximant drive lane of 12 feet, and a
depth of approximately 45 feet to the rear of the property for vehicle parking. This will be
adequate to allow fire fighting and rescue operations. I also requested no parking next to
the building in the rear storage area next to the garage door for 20 feet.
The storage for the other properties 3178, 3180 Ryan Lane was discussed and it was
agreed to have 20 -foot access next to the buildings and an emergency drive lane to the
rest of the property. Because of the materials being stored a 10 -foot drive lane should be
adequate for fire fighting and rescue operations. This arrangement was agreeable to Russ
Fisher.
Jim Lee
Deputy Fire Marshal
