Hanson
www.cilittle-canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
To: Mayor Blesener & Members of City Council
From: Bill Dircks, Public Works Superintendent
Date: June 4, 2007
Re: Vacation of Snow Fence Easement
The City received a petition for vacation of a snow fence easement over a portion of the
County Road B2 right -of -way from the Roseville Area School District as well as St. Jude
Medical. The snow fence easement was dedicated to the City in 1940 in conjunction with
the dedication of this portion of road right -of -way. Both parties petitioning for the
vacation are seeking to address title issues relative to the School District's land sale to St.
Jude Medical.
Staff has no reason to keep the snow fence easement in place. To my knowledge, a snow
fence has never been erected on the easement. The City also has no plans to put one up at
any time in the future. Therefore, staff recommends that the snow fence easement over a
portion of the County Road B2 right -of -way be vacated.
7
