Due to the nature of the improvements it was determined that the most cost effective <br />option was to obtain quotes for the three improvements in one bid package. They include <br />replacement of a storm sewer main on the Viking Drive East cul -de -sac and on Spruce Street <br />that were both creating sink holes due to deterioration of the old corrugated metal pipe. They <br />also include raising a manhole on Country Drive to meet the existing grade. <br />Quotes were received for the above referenced project on Friday, June 7, 2007. Two (2) <br />quotes were received from the following companies: <br />Corporation Base Bid Alternate 1.0 Alternate 2.0 <br />Kevitt Excavating, LLC. $ 27,266.91 $ 2,750.00 $ 2,750.00 <br />T.A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc. $ 31,912.50 $ 1,220.00 $ 2,400.00 <br />Kevitt Excavating, LLC.'s bid appears to be in order and in compliance with the bid requirements <br />as set forth in the Contract Documents and is competitive. Alternate 1.0 and Alternate 2.0 were <br />both for raising the manhole on Country Drive, but utilized different construction materials. <br />Alternate 2.0 uses a single manhole section and is the preferred option.
