Hanson
With our acquisition 2250 Rice Street, 85 Viking Drive and 91 Viking Drive, we need to
complete a hazardous materials survey prior to demolition. At a minimum, we expect to
find asbestos containing materials at these properties that must be abated before
demolition can occur. Given that the road project will not start until about June 15'11, we
need to get moving on the demolition of these structures to keep our project on schedule.
To that end, we received four quotations from qualified firms for the hazardous materials
survey. While I'm attaching a copy of their proposals, a summary is as follows:
Legend Technical Services, Inc. $2,400
American Engineering Testing, Inc. 2,600
Peer Engineering, Inc. 3,600
Liesch Associates, Inc. 3,988
Based on the prices received, staff would recommend we contract with Legend Technical
Services, Inc for the hazardous material survey based upon the proposal they submitted.
