Organized Collection -
The first utility bills will be going out April 15th with refuse collection. After the
Council's change in the exemptions allowed, staff sent out application forms to the nine
(9) residents who appeared to qualify. Of those, five (5) have applied and been granted
and four (4) have not submitted their paperwork. Staff will be charging those four (4) for
30 gallon service, until their application is approved.
Of the original 70 accounts sent first and second notices for not having refuse collection,
17 never responded. Staff had 30 gallon containers delivered to these 17 homes on
March 28 and started their service April 1. Staff has still received no response from these
17 residents. The other residents all called to select some service level or qualified for an
exemption. Prior to the ordinance change there were 18 exemptions and now there is 20.
Note: Three (3) of our Longstanding exemptions have been paying for their refuse
collection and were taken off the list.
