Hanson <br />www.ci.little-canada.mn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />DATE: April 5, 2007 <br />RE: Liquor Ordinance Violation <br />Oasis Market <br />Attached is a report from the Sheriff's Department relative to an alcohol violation that occurred at the <br />Oasis Market on September 23, 2006, as well as disposition summary from the Courts provided by <br />the City Attorney relative to the criminal prosecution of this case. Please be advised that it is <br />mandatory that the Council consider this matter and take action regarding this violation (copy of <br />ordinance attached). The severity of the action is at your discretion, subject to the appropriate <br />hearing should that action involve the license suspension or revocation. <br />Below is a summary of the action that the Council has taken with previous violations: <br />Tierney's Liquor — Open for business on unauthorized day - $100 civil penalty suspending <br />the penalty if there are no subsequent violations for one year (7/93); <br />MGM Liquors — Sale of liquor to retail vendor who was on MN Dept. of Revenue Liquor <br />Posting Tax Delinquent List - $1 civil penalty (4/96); <br />MGM Liquors — Open for business on unauthorized day - $100 civil penalty, suspending the <br />penalty if there are no subsequent violations for one year (2/00); <br />Gas N Go — Sale to minor - $100 civil penalty, suspending the penalty if there are no <br />subsequent violations for one year (7/01); <br />Gordies — Sale to minor - $100 civil penalty, suspending the penalty if there are no <br />subsequent violations for one year (2/02); <br />Oasis Market — Sale to minor - $100 civil penalty, suspending the penalty if there are no <br />subsequent violations for one year (3/03); <br />Moon Bay — Sale to minor - $200 civil penalty, suspending the penalty if there are no <br />subsequent violations for one year (8/04); <br />
