Hanson <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Mayor Blesener & Members of City Council <br />From: Bill Dircks, Public Works Superintendent <br />Date: March 21, 2007 <br />Re: 2007 Street Sweeping <br />Quotations are being accepted for 2007 spring street sweeping until Friday, March 23. <br />Once all quotes have been submitted staff will organize a bid tabulation and prepare a <br />report and recommendation for the City Council meeting on March 26. The <br />specifications, which have been included for your review, call for the sweeping to begin <br />as soon as possible in order to pick up as much sand and debris as possible before the <br />heavy rains begin. This approach has been used for the past two years and has had a <br />positive effect on our storm sewer system. A light application of straight salt from <br />Ramsey County will be used should any snow or ice events occur after street sweeping <br />operations begin. <br />
