MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 21, 2011
County and the City have to work with the property owner, and again pointed
out the acquisition costs that the County paid on other projects in Roseville,
Maplewood, and Vadnais Heights.
Again, the suggestion was made that the County should have its expert look at
the Gas N Go layout. The City Administrator again noted the issue of median
impact on Gas N Go. Auge suggested that an option would be to extend the
median further down County Road C allowing a U -turn maneuver for vehicles
turning right onto County Road C from Gas N Go and then wishing to go west.
The Administrator suggested that the County take a look at other road design
options that may negate the impact to Gas N Go. One suggestion may be ajog
in Rice Street moving it slightly west in this area. Auge indicated that the
County would explore options. Blesener suggested that the City Administrator
and Public Works Superintendent work with the County on the issues of cost
participation and design options. Boss suggested that another option may be to
install three medians, eliminating the County Road C median on the east side of
Rice Street.
The Administrator indicated that there is still time to do some more work on
these issues. Auge agreed. Auge indicated that the County will come back with
a final right -of -way plan for Council approval.
The Administrator pointed out that the County will hold an open house on this
project on December 611' at the Little Canada City Center. The County will send
out notices to abutting property owners, and a notice will be placed in the City
newsletter.
There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
Attest:
„t //C 7/
Joe T I . nson, City Administrator
6
