I was
contacted by the employer of Charlie Lanigan, Quality Drywall Midwest, to help with a
benefit for Charlie's significant medical bills and financial hardship. Charlie has been
diagnosed with cancer and has been in and out of the hospital. His health is rapidly
deteriorating. The owners of Quality Drywall Midwest want to hold a benefit for Charlie
at the union hall in Little Canada.
In speaking with Kathy Glancer, I am requesting two resolutions from the City of Little
Canada. The resolutions are needed to hold the benefit for Charlie Lanigan at the union
hall in Little Canada. Charlie is a member of the St Paul Painters and Allied Trades
Local #61 Union which has it union hall in Little Canada at 3205 Country Drive where
the benefit is intended to be held. The event will be a spaghetti dinner /raffle with both to
be held the same day at the union hall on Tuesday October 30 from 4 -9 pm.
Food Service
I have spoke. with Mark, Ramsey County Health Inspector assigned to the union hall,
today to coordinate the food service license and preparation of the food. Mark mentioned
the license will be brought to the union hall site the day of the event. Mark will give us
guidance on the specifics of the food and its preparation as we proceed.
Raffle
The Albertville Lions are a Licensed Gambling Organization (license #01535) and will
use our license for the purposes of the raffle. I have enclosed a copy of the LG 230
Application to Conduct Off-Site Gambling that needs to be approved by the Gambling
Control Board. Approval from the City of Little Canada is required to be sent with this
application. Please note that page 2, LG224, does not need to be completed because this
is an application for a raffle,
Liquor License
The benefit committee intends to serve 3.2% beer at the event pending your approval.
The union hall has given permission. The Albertville Lions will be purchasing and
serving the beer at the event. The Albertville Lions do have Liquor Liability Insurance
and I have provided a copy of the certificate of insurance. All members that will be
serving beer have attended and passed a "TIPS for Concessions" Training Program
within the past 3 years. If you are unaware of the TIPS program it is athird party training
2
