Ramsey - Washington Metro
July 31, 2007
Mr. Joel Hanson
City of Little Canada Administrator
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
District
RE: Wetland Determination for LaBore Road Area
Dear Joel,
2555 Noel Drive
Lithe Canada. MN 55117
(651) 792-7950
fax: ( 51) 792-7951
em si: office: ©rwmwd.org
website: WWW.rwrnwd.crg
At your request and Board approval, we conducted a field determination of the wetlands present within the
bounds of LaBore Road and Arcade Street on the west, County Road D on the north, Walter Street /Kohlman
Lake on the east and Gervais Lake on the south.
We used in our aid the prior delineations that were done for the Scully, Johnson and Lauren Development
properties. We made use of our GPS unit in the field to mark the boundaries as we walked the wetland edge.
As you can see on the attached maps, the approximate wetland boundary that we determined in the field varies
from the previous wetland shapes that were delineated from aerial photo interpretation. We feel this recent
determination is a more accurate representation of the actual conditions in the field. With that said, the attached
map is still an approximation that may vary by ten feet.
The maps also indicate where the corresponding wetland buffer requirement is in relation to the wetlands. The
Manage A wetlands require a 75 foot average no disturb buffer with a minimum of 37.5 feet in all locations and
the Manage B wetlands require a 50 foot average with a minimum of 25 feet. One caution we have is that the
two westerly Manage B wetlands require individual MnRAM assessments be done on them as they were
originally considered part of a larger wetland complex. Their classifications may change after that assessment
is done. We will notify you of any changes in the classification of those two basins.
We hope this information is useful in assisting the City in planning for potential development of this area. If
you need any additional information or would like the map in a different format please let us know.
Sincerely,
cfruco ie,,J
Tina Carstens
Permit Program Coordinator
Julie Vigness -Pint
District Technician
