CITY OF LITTLE CANADA /CITY OF VADNAIS HEIGHTS <br />Seal Coating Bids <br />Notice is hereby given that bids will be received, opened and read aloud in the Council Chambers of the City of Little Canada, <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road East, on the 27th day of June, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. for bituminous seal coating on selected <br />streets in the cities of Little Canada and Vadnais Heights. <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR SEAL COATING STREETS <br />1. Seal coat shall be applied in accordance with Minnesota D.O.T. Spec. No. 2356. <br />2. Cost per square yard for seal coating includes: <br />• Street sweeping before seal coating. <br />• Seal coating. <br />♦ Removal of all surplus aggregate from seal coat operations from cities. <br />3. Bituminous material shall be CRS -2 (with up to two rollers as needed) for Little Canada and CRS -2P (with up <br />to three rollers as needed) for Vadnais Heights. <br />4. Aggregate: Virgin FA -2 Trap Rock shall be used on the selected streets in Vadnais I-Ieights and Virgin FA -2 <br />Class A Granite shall be used on the selected streets in Little Canada. (see table for location and square yards). <br />5. Work to be completed within the timeframe of July 5 to July 27, 2007. <br />6. Sweeping shall occur within 1 -4 working days. <br />7. Each City reserves the right to increase or decrease seal coat yardage. <br />8. Furnish a certificate of insurance and performance bond when bid is accepted. <br />9. All bids must be on proposal forms furnished and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bidders bond in <br />the amount of 5% (5 percent) of the amount of the bid. <br />10. All manholes and gate valves must be protected with sand. <br />11. All surplus aggregate from seal coat operations shall be removed from City. <br />12. All prime contractors must have minimum of 5 years of actual seal coating experience. <br />13. Contractor shall be responsible for traffic control including posting of signage and flagmen. All streets shall be <br />posted "No Parking" at least 48 hours in advance of seal coat work commencing. Loose gravel signs shall be in <br />place until excess aggregate is swept up. <br />14. All oil shall be completely covered by city specified aggregate. <br />15. Contractor shall provide at least 7 days notice of intent to begin work in each city. <br />16.
