CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />Parking Lot Striping Quotations <br />Notice is hereby given that quotations will be received at Little Canada City Hall located at 515 Little Canada Road East, until <br />11:00 a.m. on July 9, 2007 for parking lot striping in the City of Little Canada. <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR STRIPING <br />1. Application shall be in accordance with latest MnDot Specifications for conventional pavement marking materials, <br />quick dry, Epoxy, Alkyd, and High Solids Latex. <br />2. The contractor shall layout the work for each lot in accordance with the existing pavement markings. All parking <br />spaces shall be a minimum of 9 feet wide and 20 feet deep unless otherwise noted. Contact the Public Works <br />Superintendent for clarification of any lot markings. <br />3. Pavement markings shall only be applied in seasonable weather when the air temperature is 50 degrees F or higher <br />unless the manufacturer authorizes a lower temperature in writing. Markings shall not be applied when the wind or <br />other conditions cause a film of dust to be deposited on the pavement surface after cleaning and before the marking <br />material can be applied. <br />4. At the time of applying the marking material, the application area shall be free of contamination. <br />5. All pavement striping shall be white in color, four inches wide and a minimum of 380 micrometers thick, which shall <br />be uniform across the width of the line. <br />6. Sections of curb that are marked shall be painted yellow to signify "No Parking ". <br />7. Application of the marking material shall be such as to provide uniform film thickness throughout the coverage area. <br />Stripe ends shall be clean cut and square, with a minimum of material beyond the cutoff. <br />8. The contractor shall furnish and place, without extra compensation, all necessary protection for the uncured markings as <br />may be necessary until traffic may cross them without damage thereto. Protection devices such as "cones" shall be of <br />an approved type that will not cause damage to the vehicle when accidentally struck. <br />9. Final disposal of debris, waste materials, and other remains or consequences of the work shall be accomplished outside <br />the project work area prior to final acceptance of all work. Final acceptance of each parking lot can only be made when <br />the cleanup associated with each parking lot is completed. <br />10. All work shall be completed (weather permitting) by July 20, 2007. <br />A City map with the parking lots identified has been included along with a spreadsheet with the number of stalls in each lot. <br />The City of Little Canada Public Works Superintendent will be the coordinator for this work. <br />Quotations shall be directed to the Little Canada Public Works Superintendent. Quotations can be mailed to City Hall, 515 Little <br />Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 or faxed to 651- 766 -4048. <br />The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and waive irregularities and informalities therein and <br />further reserves the right to award the contract in the best interest of the City. <br />- 3 - <br />
