recyclable materials. In the case of Gene's Disposal customers, the <br />Contractor shall provide a suitable recycling container for two -sort <br />collection. <br />c. Single Sort System. Residents will be instructed to place all <br />recyclable materials, listed in the definitions section, into the single <br />sort container. The Contractor shall not make any changes to this <br />single sort collection system without written approval of the City. <br />Failure to receive City approval for any such changes to the single <br />sort collection system shall be considered by the City as a breach of <br />this Agreement subject to termination. The Contractor shall work with <br />the City to provide necessary written educational materials on the <br />single sort system for residents including a legible sticker placed on <br />each container that lists approved recyclable items. <br />d. Two Sort System. Gene's Disposal customers shall be instructed to <br />commingle two groups of all materials. (1) All food and beverage <br />containers, including glass, metal and plastic bottles /jugs with a neck; <br />and (2) all paper fiber products, including newspapers, magazines, <br />mixed mail, catalogs, phone books and corrugated cardboard. The <br />Contractor shall not make any changes to this "two- sort" <br />collection/processing system without written approval of the City. <br />Failure to receive City approval for any such changes to the "two - <br />sort" collection/processing system prior to implementation for City <br />collections or material processing shall be considered by the City as a <br />breach of this Agreement subject to termination. <br />e. Location. Residential dwelling units shall have their recyclables in <br />the approved single sort containers provided by the Contractor located <br />at the boulevard adjoining the curb on or before 7:00 a.m. on the <br />designated day of collection. <br />f. Frequency. Each residential dwelling unit shall have its recyclables <br />collected every -other week (except Gene's Disposal customer who <br />will remain on an every week schedule) on the same day as refuse <br />collection service. The Contractor shall provide an annual calendar to <br />each resident by no later than December 20th that indicates the <br />collection dates for the upcoming year. <br />g. <br />Reporting. Tonnages of recyclables collected shall be reported to the <br />City on an annual basis by January 15th of the following year. These <br />tonnages must be reported by individual materials collected and the <br />place where the recyclables are delivered must be disclosed. If the <br />tonnages are estimates, the method of estimation must also be <br />disclosed and Contractor will do everything possible to ensure the <br />-8- <br />
