c. Process for Collection. The resident shall contact the City directly to <br />request pickup of the bulky item(s). The resident shall place the item <br />curbside for pickup on the designated day for pickup as instructed by <br />the City. <br />d. Reporting. The City shall be responsible for instituting a system to <br />account for the number of items picked up per residence, per year. <br />The City shall notify the Contractor when a residence has exceeded <br />their allotted three bulky items to enable the contractor to bill for any <br />items beyond three pursuant to Attachment B. <br />e. Pickup in Excess of Three Items. The pickup of any bulky items in <br />excess of three (3) within any calendar year shall be subject to the <br />charges as described in Attachment B. <br />B. Service Schedule. <br />1. Hours. The Contractor shall perform all collection services between the <br />hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., on Monday through Friday, except when an <br />emergency exists, at which time the Contractor shall notify the City of such <br />emergency <br />2. Collection Days. The Contractor shall provide Day - Certain refuse, <br />recycling, bulky item, and yard waste collection. Unless otherwise agreed to <br />by the parties hereto, collection services will be on Wednesdays with single <br />sort occurring every other Wednesday. <br />a. The Contractor may request a change in the day of pickup by <br />requesting such change in writing to the City at least thirty (30) days <br />from the proposed date the requested change is to take effect. A <br />change shall become effective only upon authorization from the City <br />and a fourteen -day notice to the residents. <br />b. The Contractor shall bear all costs involved in notifying residents of <br />approved schedule changes. <br />3. Holidays. The Contractor will observe the following legal holidays on which <br />their offices and operations will be closed: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, <br />Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. <br />When holidays fall on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, the collection <br />shall be made one (1) working day later. <br />4. Authorized Pickups. Only such pickups shall be made at assigned addresses <br />and accounts as authorized by the City pursuant to the terms of this Contract, <br />-10- <br />
