[maiito:groebnj.l @yahoo.coml
Sent: Monday, December 05, 2011 11:09 AM
To: Joel Hanson
Cc: groebnj.i @yahoo.com
Subject: Planning Commission application
Joel Hanson, City Administrator
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
To Mr. Hanson and Little Canada Council Members:
Please accept this cover letter and attached resume as my application for the City of
Little Canada Planning Commission.
My family and I moved to Little Canada in June 2011. We have enjoyed getting to know our
new community by exploring its parks, trails and local businesses. We appreciate the
services the city provides and have found Little Canada to be a great place to live so
far.
I noted the city newsletter article seeking candidates for the Planning Commission and, as
a new member to the community, would like to get involved. :[ have a master's degree in
Public Administration, and more than nine years of professional public and government
affairs experience. My career began as communications professional, where I developed
communication and promotion plans, wrote press releases, news articles, web content and
worked with members of the media. Additionally, I have planned, organized and executed
special events and public information campaigns.
Currently, I serve as a program manager for the state's Clean Water Fund, and as an
administrator to a state interagency executive leadership team and the Governor - appointed
Clean Water Council. In this role, I provide .leadership to Council members and agency
leadership, advising on policies, budget recommendations and resolutions. Additionally, I
serve as a .liaison to many partners, maintaining effective working relationships between
organizations, commissions, the Governor's office, and federal, state and local
governments.
I believe my background and professional experience would serve me well as a member of the
Planning Commission. I'm happy to respond to any questions you may have, or to meet with
you in person to discuss this opportunity further.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jennifer Maleitzke
882 Westwind Drive
Little Canada, MN 55109
651- 488 -6429 (home)
4
