Hanson
www. ci.little- Canada. mn. us
MEMORANDUM
To: Mayor Blesener & Members of City Council
From: Bill Dircks, Public Works Superintendent
Date: October 2, 2007
Re: New Public Works Employee
I would like to recommend the hiring of Kurt Frison for the position of Public Works
Maintenance Worker. Kurt lives in Little Canada and will be a tremendous addition to
our staff. He is currently a member of the Little Canada Fire Department and has worked
as a seasonal employee for Little Canada Parks in the past. He brings a great attitude and
an eagerness to get started and help us out in any way he can. His knowledge of the City
will speed up his training considerably.
We had 37 applicants for the position. It was a very good group to choose from. We
interviewed six candidates and invited two back for a second interview. In the end, we
determined that Mr. Frison was the best fit for our group. He has passed his physical and
drug test and began his employment with us on October 8. I would recommend a starting
wage of $18.13 /hour with an increase to step one of the public works maintenance
worker scale in six months subject to a satisfactory review.
Please join me in welcoming Mr. Frison to the City of Little Canada staff.
