.tfCRIHG .assoafT {S <br />TAUT: NORTH <br />Memo <br />TO: Mayor Blesener & Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Lee Elfering, City Engineer <br />DATE: October 5, 2007 <br />RE: 2008 Street Improvements Project <br />Holding of Informational Meetings <br />As part of the proposed 2008 budget the City is reviewing the possibility of improving <br />several street segments throughout the City. To insure a cost effective project all work <br />would be combined into a single project for bidding purposes. A list of the streets that <br />have been identified is as follows: <br />Thunderbay Road (County Road D to Cul -de -sac) <br />Lakeside Court (Keller Parkway to Cul -de -sac) <br />Condit Street (South Owasso to Nadeau Road) <br />As with all the previous street improvement projects, a portion of the project cost would <br />be assessed in accordance with the City's assessment policy to the adjacent benefiting <br />properties. For that reason it has been the City's practice to hold informational meetings <br />with the residents along each of the streets to discuss the possibility of the <br />improvements and gauge their interest in the City pursuing the project prior to <br />completion of a feasibility study. The comments received are included in the feasibility <br />study to be prepared as required by Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429 process for local <br />improvements. <br />At this time we would like to request authorization to conduct these public informational <br />meetings to assist in the determination of what streets would be included in this <br />upcoming years project.
