which would allow these signs or not. The League Attorney recommends
deleting this section.
5. 903.110.B.1.i: The League Attorney expresses discomfort with regulations that
permit off -site garage sale signs as a class. The solution proposed by the
League is to allow signs for certain duration or size, but not relate them to garage
sales. The City's regulations permit on -site signs without this problem — it is the
off -site signage that raises the issue. The possible solutions are to eliminate off -
site signs altogether, or allow such signs without reference to garage sales.
6. 902.110.C.4.a.(3): This section relates to temporary signs. The primary concern
for this section is the language which allows the City Council to determine that
certain groups (non - profits, etc.) are exempt from certain provisions or may have
special allowances. The League would recommend deleting these special
provisions.
Apart from these items, the ordinance primarily addresses different sign and location
by zoning district which should raise no specific legal concerns.
Pc: Kathy Glanzer
Steve Westerhaus
Lee Elfering
