insurance plan. If Hanson elects the "opt out" option, the City will pay to Hanson an amount <br />equal to $894 for 2012 premium which is less than the City would have paid for Hanson's <br />family health insurance coverage. For each year subsequent to 2012, the amount paid to <br />Hanson will increase by the same percentage as the increase for "opt out" for other City staff. <br />I- Ianson will provide to the City proof of his family health insurance coverage through his <br />spouse's benefit plan. The City will provide Hanson the same group life insurance coverage <br />that is provided to all other City employees. The City further agrees to provide Hanson with <br />long -term disability coverage in the same manner as provided to other City employees. <br />8. DUES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS. The City will budget and pay the professional dues <br />subscriptions for Hanson, which are necessary for his continued participation in national, <br />regional, state, and local associations necessary and desirable for his continued professional <br />participation, growth and advancement and for the good of the City. <br />9. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The City agrees to budget and to pay the travel and <br />subsistence expenses of Hanson for professional and official travel for meetings and <br />occasions adequate to continue the professional development of Hanson and to adequately <br />pursue necessary official and other committees thereof which employee serves as a member. <br />Ilanson will use good judgment in his outside activities so he will not neglect his primary <br />duties to the City. Some of the seminars Hanson expects to attend include, but are not limited <br />to, the following: International City Management Association, League of Minnesota Cities, <br />and the Minnesota City /County Management Association. Hanson will also be permitted to <br />attend the ICMA Annual Conference biannually (at a minimum) or annually per the approval <br />of the City Council. <br />
