Lived in northern Maplewood and now Little Canada for some time. I
am also over 50 years old am also very accustomed to watching government officials place profits over
citizen's health and well being.
When I read in the Little Canada newspaper that the city was planning on installing "smart meters," I thought
to myself, here we go again. 'Then, when I spoke to a friend who lived in California and found out how
dangerous they were, 1 got inspired to write you.
As much financial trouble as this country is in, we cannot afford to rush forward with projects that are risky
just to appease big industries. The 99% are watching all branches of government and reporting all officials who
are not doing their job of keeping citizens safe front the interests of the 1 %; who would put the safety and health
of the 99% at risk to squeeze even more profits for the 1%. Letting this project go ahead shows you have fallen
short of what you were elected to do.
I have included some links that may interest you as I believe your decision to go ahead and install smart meters
without considering the health risks of your citizens will be challenged and will result in more fiscal waste. I
encourage you all to be more mindful in the future.
Sincerely,
Cathy Lathrop
Iutp: / /stopsmartmeters.org/
http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2011/11/01/18696555.php
http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2011/11/01/18696555.php
PG &E Begins Removing 'Smart' Meters Due to Health Effects
by Joshua Hart
Tuesday Nov 1st, 2011 1:39 PM
Santa Cruz, Calif. —Just as PG &E enters the final phase of its deployment of wireless "smart" meters in
California, the largest of the state's Investor Owned Utilities (IOU's) has reversed course, quietly
14
