MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 1, 2012 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held <br />on the 18` day of March, 2012, in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair <br />Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dan Slain <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the February 2, <br />2012 meeting. <br />SPOONER The Director reviewed the diagram of the Spooner Park area proposed to <br />PARK — be cleared for Canadian Days. The Director reported that Bill Sanders <br />CLEARING has physically marked the area with a yellow border, and some of the <br />FOR larger trees that will be retained are marked with yellow ribbon. The <br />CANADIAN Director encouraged the Commissioners to go out and review the site. <br />DAYS <br />The Director indicated that the next step will be to contact the correction <br />crew and authorize them to begin clearing. The City will be borrowing <br />Shoreview's crew for this purpose. City crews will also be utilized to do <br />some of the work, and it may be necessary to hire a contractor for the <br />finishing work in the spring. <br />Maida asked why the area was not being cleared up to Eli Road. The <br />Director reported that there is some heavy growth in this area that will be <br />retained and provides a good buffer for the Eli Road homes. There is also <br />the horseshoe pit to work around. <br />
