RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO <br />CONDUCT A SPEED STUDY ON EDGERTON STREET <br />WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />WHEREAS, <br />The City of little Canada has received requests from Little Canada property owners for a <br />lower speed limit on Edgerton Street; <br />WHEREAS, <br />The Edgerton Street speed limit within the City of Little Canada is currently 40 miles per <br />hour, while there are sections of Edgerton Street outside of Little Canada where the speed <br />limit is 30 miles per hour; <br />WHEREAS, <br />A speed limit study has not been conducted on Edgerton Street within Little Canada since <br />1983; <br />WHEREAS, <br />Given the increase in traffic volumes since 1983 and given the impact that the Unweave <br />the Weave Project is having on Edgerton Street, the Council of the City of Little Canada <br />felt it was appropriate to request a speed study at this time. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Little Canada <br />hereby requests the Minnesota Department of Transportation conduct a speed study of <br />Edgerton Street from 694 to County Road B within the City of Little Canada the sole <br />purpose of which is to lower the speed limit on Edgerton Street consistent with <br />neighboring jurisdictions to ensure the safety of Little Canada residents. <br />Attest: <br />Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />3 <br />William Blesener, Mayor <br />
