Se (°anala
MAYOR
Bill Blesener
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Rick Montour
Barbara Allan
John Keis
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048 Joel R. Hanson
www.cilittle-canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk
DATE: October 5, 2006
RE:
November 7, 2006 General Election
Appointment of Election Judges & Authorization of Use of Absentee
Ballot Board
Attached is a listing of Election Judges for the November 7, 2006 General Election.
There are a couple of spots left to fill, and I will have a complete listing by the October
11th Council Meeting. Staff requests appointment of these Election Judges for the
General Election, including authorization of any Last minute appointments that might be
necessary.
Given the high number of absentee ballots the City receives, staff is requesting the use of
an Absentee Ballot Board for the accepting and rejecting of Absentee Ballots prior to
Election Day. An Absentee Ballot Board is comprised of election judges of differing
political parties corning together to do the accepting /rejecting process. Once accepting
and rejecting is completed, accepted Absentee Ballots will he forwarded to the City's
voting precincts on Election Day for final processing.
An Absentee Ballot Board was utilized during the 2004 General Election and was
extremely helpful in completing some of the work prior to Election Day and improving
Election Day efficiency.
