Hanson <br />As required under State Statute, the City of Little Canada must hold its Truth In Taxation <br />hearing (and continuation hearing, if determined necessary) between Wednesday, <br />November 29th and Wednesday, December 20th. The County, School Districts, and <br />Metro Joint District have scheduled their TNT hearings, and the date the City chooses <br />cannot conflict with any of those hearing dates. (See calendar attached of dates left <br />available to the City.) <br />Given that the Legislature has reserved Monday, December 4th, and Monday, December <br />1 lth, for cities to schedule their TNT hearings, it would be staff's recommendation that <br />the Little Canada Truth In Taxation hearing be scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Monday, <br />December 4, 2006. A continuation hearing should be called for Monday, December 11, <br />2006, and will be held only if determined necessary. <br />Actual adoption of the budget cannot occur at the Truth In Taxation hearing. In the past <br />the City has combined its two regular December meetings into one, and has held the <br />Public Hearing for budget adoption at that meeting. Consistent with that practice, it <br />would be staff's recommendation that the Council hold its regular meeting on December <br />13, 2006 and cancel its regularly scheduled December 27th meeting. Staff would further <br />recommend that the Council call a public hearing to adopt the 2007 Budget at the <br />December 13°i meeting. <br />
