Hanson <br />www.ctlittle-canadaann.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />DATE: September 22, 2006 <br />RE: Extension of Moratorium on Advertising Devices Adjacent to <br />Interstates <br />As the Council is aware, a moratorium was enacted on the issuance of permits for <br />advertising devices adjacent to Interstates in October of 2005. Given the impact that this <br />issue has for all cities, the League of Minnesota Cities has undertaken a study of this <br />issue and should have recommendations available within the next few months. <br />Therefore, it is staff's recommendation that the moratorium he extended for an additional <br />12 months. This should give us adequate time to review the League's analysis and <br />modify our ordinance accordingly. <br />
