MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />September 7, 2006 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 7th day of September, 2006 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Tony Mans called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Mr. Tony Mans, Chair <br />Ms. Pam Davis, Vice -Chair <br />Mr. Jim Fleischhacker <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Clara Neis <br />ALSO PRESENT: Ms. Kris. Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />WELCOME Mans welcomed new members Jim Fleischhacker and Ruth Steinwall to the Commission and <br />thanked them for their willingness to serve. <br />MINUTES Davis recommended that the minutes froth the tneeting held on August 2, 2006 be approved <br />as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Steinert. <br />Motion carried 5 — 0. <br />CANADIAN Pat Johnson of 3032 LaBore Road was present to discuss the development of his property. <br />WOODS He will be appearing before the Planning Commission and City Council for preliminary plat <br />'ARK CI-IG. approval this month. He stated that his property is around ten acres in size, much of which is <br />wetland. He will be developing the property in order to build six single family dwellings. <br />Approval has already been granted by the Watershed District. <br />Some items have changed since he brought this concept before the Commission at their July <br />meeting. Johnson indicated that he had to remove the proposed trail easement in order to make <br />his lots as big as possible. The development is ending up costing Johnson more than he <br />anticipated so this change was definitely necessary. A holding pond was also added off of lots 7 <br />and 8. The land where the holding pond will be located could be donated to the city, but the <br />Watershed has indicated that this property needs to remain in "do not disturb" status so Johnson <br />didn't think a trail or park would be feasible in that area. <br />Johnson stated that Outlot "B" is available for possible donation to the city. Johnson stated that <br />this property is beautiful and would make a nice addition to the city's trail system. He indicated <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
