Hanson <br />Given recent changes in State Law, relief associations that are subsidiaries of <br />independent non - profit fire fighting corporations must be managed by a board of trustees <br />consisting of nine members. Of those nine members two must be drawn from the <br />officials of the city served by the fire department. (See copy of State Law attached.) <br />Currently, three members of the City Council serve on the Little Canada Relief <br />Association. Those members are Mayor Blesener and Council Members Allan and <br />LaValle. Council action is needed to reduce the number of City representatives to two. <br />As a point of further information, the next Fire Relief Association meeting is scheduled <br />for Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. at the Little Canada Fire Station. <br />
