Memorandum <br />ASSO(IAT. <br />'RU 1101114 <br />TO: Little Canada Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: Lee Elfering, City Engineer <br />DATE: December 13, 2006 <br />RE: County Road B2 & Jessica Court Lift Station Modifications <br />Change Order #1 <br />Background <br />The City let two contracts for the above referenced project earlier this fall. One project <br />was to supply the lift station equipment and the second contract was to install the <br />supplied equipment. At the time the installation contract was being let the successful <br />equipment supplier provided an estimated delivery time for the lift station equipment. <br />The estimated date provided and included in the specification was at or around <br />November 20, 2006. Based on that estimated equipment delivery date the time set for <br />substantial completion of the installations of both lift stations was January 30, 2007. <br />After award of the installation contract it was discovered that some components of the lift <br />stations were in short supply and on back order. Hence the estimated delivery date for <br />one of the lift stations could be met, but the other station's equipment would not be <br />complete for delivery until early January. Due to the extended delivery time Engineering <br />& Construction Innovations, Inc, the installation Contractor, has requested an extension <br />of the substantial completion time on the second lift station until March 2, 2007. <br />Summary and Recommendations <br />The delay of the equipment delivery was beyond the control of the installation Contractor <br />and a time extension is justified. We have prepared the attached Change Order which <br />extends the substantial completion time for the Jessica Court lift station to March 2, <br />2007. All other completion dates will remain the same and there will be no additional <br />compensation beyond the time extension.
