(8) Relation to Other Rules. None of the enforcement provisions of this <br />Rule shall abridge or alter the right: of the City to seek remedies provided <br />for under Rule H herein. <br />(i) EXCEPTIONS. <br />(a) The following discharges are exempt from discharge prohibitions <br />established by this Rule: water line flushing or other potable water <br />sources landsca e irri <ration or lawn watering. diverted stream flows, <br />rising ground water, ground water infiltration to storm drains <br />unconratninated pumped ground water. foundation or footing drains (not <br />including active Groundwater dewatering sysretns). crawl space pumps, <br />air conditioning condensation. springs. non-commercial washing of <br />vehicles natural riparian habitat or wetland flows. swimming pools (if <br />dechlorinated - typically less than one PPM chlorine) street wash water. <br />tire fi >htin > activities and any other water source not containing <br />Pollutants. <br />(b) Discharges specified in writing by the City as being necessary to <br />protect public health and safety. <br />(c) Dye testing is an allowable discharge, but requires a verbal notification <br />to due City prior to the_time of the test. <br />(d) Any non-storm water discharge )erntitted under an NPDES permit <br />waiver or waste discharge order issued to the discharger and <br />administered under the authority of the Federal Environmental <br />Protection Agency. provided that the discharger is in full compliance <br />with all requirements of the permit. waiver. or order and other applicable <br />laws and regulations, and provided that written approval has been <br />granted for any disclmrue to the storm drain systetn. <br />3. Good Housekeeping Provisions - Any owner or occupant of property <br />within C, ytv shall comply with the following -good housekeeping <br />requirements: <br />a. No person shall leave, deposit, discharge, dump, or otherwise expose <br />any chemical or septic waste in an area where discharge to streets or <br />storm drain system may occur. This section shall apply to both actual <br />and potential discharges. <br />i. For pools, water should be allowed to sit seven days to allow for <br />chlorine to evaporate before discharge. If fungicides have been <br />used, water must be tested and approved for discharge to the <br />wastewater treatment plant. <br />b. Runoff of water from residential property shall be minimized to the <br />maximum extent practicable.
