2.a. How will the municipality assure materials are collected in 2007 from those households that will <br />not receive recycling collection services under a municipally arranged contract? (For example: <br />ordinance provisions, licensing requirements, etc.) City ordinance 11809.050: <br />All our licensed haulers provide recycling to the households in the city. <br />Weekly pickups of all recyclable materials will be provided on Wednesdays. <br />2.b. What materials are required to be collected? <br />Newspapers, corrugated cardboard, all paper items, bi -metal cans, aluminum <br />cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars, mixed mail and magazines. <br />2.c. What is the collection frequency? (If frequency is different based on type of housing, please <br />describe differences.) We currently have weekly pickup of recyclable materials <br />on every Wednesday of every week. <br />3. How will the municipality assure that all recyclables collected from residential properties are <br />recycled, whether collected by the municipality's contracted vendor or another service provider? <br />All our haulers provide monthly or quarterly reports of tonnage and by the <br />contract provisions. <br />4. What changes are planned or anticipated for 2007? <br />We are currently negotiating our contract; there is a possibility that the <br />city's new contract with the haulers will have single sort recycling for <br />our single family residentials. <br />5. How are recycling services in 2007 to be paid for, beyond any use of SCORE funds? What long- <br />term funding source is in place for recycling services? <br />All the haulers currently invoice our residents for recycling on their refuse <br />bill. The haulers provide recycling fliers to their customers. <br />6. What public education and promotion efforts is the municipality planning for 2007? List types of <br />printed materials, other media, or events; intended audiences; method and frequency of <br />distribution. The city currently distributes to all residents a bi--monthly <br />newsletter with recyclin.g articles of interest, our website, our local cable <br />channel 16. and city information telephone line. We also provide recycling <br />information in our welcome packet for new residents. <br />7. What measurable goals do you have for waste reduction and recycling activities in 2007? Please <br />describe how you will measure progress toward those goals and how activities will be evaluated. At <br />least ONE measurable goal must be listed. <br />By going to single sort recycling we are in hopes of reducing the amount of <br />waste and increasing the amount of recycling material. <br />8. How will the municipality monitor or audit activities conducted by any contractors or <br />subcontractors? Al! haulers are required to submit tonnage reports to the city <br />They also inform our office of any suggestions or complaints from our residents. <br />3 <br />
