The fire ring /pit is in compliance. I have discussed all of the <br />recreational fire requirements with the homeowner and he has assured me the <br />fire ring /pit will remain in compliance. <br />2002. RECREATIONAL FIRES <br />2002.010. Fires set in a fireplace, pit, or fire ring for recreational purposes <br />or food preparation purposes shall be permitted within the City of Little <br />Canada only after meeting the following conditions: <br />1. The recreational fire or cooking fire shall be contained in a fireplace, pit <br />or fire ring, designed for recreational or cooking purposes; <br />2. The size of the fire shall not exceed 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet; <br />3. The fire must be located at least 25 feet from the nearest structure <br />and /or motor vehicle; <br />4. A garden hose and water supply or other fire - extinguishing equipment <br />must be available and a competent person of at least 18 years of age <br />must be in constant attendance until the fire has been extinguished; <br />5. No fire shall be permitted if the wind is in excess of 10 miles per hour; <br />6. Only clean wood may be used as fuel, and no fire accelerants shall be <br />allowed. No yard waste (leaves and grass clippings) is allowed; and <br />7. A recreational fire shall be extinguished immediately if it generates <br />smoke that becomes a nuisance to adjacent or nearby properties. <br />19 <br />
