choose from, less subscribers would receive e -mails since they would only be sent e -mails on <br />the categories they've selected thereby saving us money. However, there are others who may <br />argue that if we eliminate all of the choices and just provide one periodic "general city extra" <br />e -mail that would contain several different topics (sample attached), this might be the less <br />expensive way to go since the number of original messages sent out would be less. We could <br />also control the frequency. The advocates of the second option would probably argue that <br />the subscribers would sign up for several categories under the first option which would create <br />many messages sent anyway. We could continue to use the pre- existing e -mail lists (which <br />cost us nothing) for agendas /minutes, newsletters, and job postings in order to save us some <br />costs in this area, but we would then have to continue maintaining the lists (bulk e -mail tool <br />lets users maintain the lists themselves). <br />tl:AKathyoACorrespondence \Kathy 2006E-Mail Action Plan Report.doc <br />-3 <br />
