City f Anoka Residents <br />The Easiest W y to Recycle is Co Ing to Ynil <br />Anoka's "Single Sort Recycling" from BFI/Allied Waste starts in *January 2006! <br />Q What is Single Sort Recycling? <br />A: Single Sort recycling from BR/Ailled Waste allows you to throw all recyclable materials into one cart- no <br />sating or separating of the materials Is needed, well do it for you' provide you with a new, specially- <br />designed recycling cart that you can place all recyclaNes into. The cart has wheels so its easy to ma down <br />the deNeway and has a special grey Rd that sets it apart from other containers, In the next month, we will be <br />sending you more Information so you fully understand the program. <br />Cr Why is the City of Anoka Switching te Singh Sort Recycling? <br />A Single Sort recycling is the easiest and most convenient way for citizens to recycle. During the summer of <br />2005, BFliAllied Waste did a 12-week Single Sod pilot study in the City of Anoka. The program was a huge <br />success! Recycling participation Increased from 66% to 90%, and the amount of material collectexl nearly <br />doubled The Anoka Waste Reduction and Recycling Board and City Council uretnimously approved the <br />switch to this new service, beginning January 1, 2006. <br />Q When wal the new Single Sort Recycling program start? <br />k The new Singe Sod recycling carts wilt be delivered to your home the last week in Decanter or the &st <br />week h Januaiy. Therefore, please <br />reuse the small bins as you wish (they make great storage eontelners). <br />Q What size is the new Single Sort Recycling cart? <br />A: The new middle-sized recycling cart has 64 gallons of capacity. <br />It elands 39" tall, is 25' wide, and is 2r deep.
