Page 5 of 20 <br />and places adjacent to unsafe structures, and prohibit the same from being utilized. <br />(D) Emergency Repairs: For the purposes of this Section, the code official shall employ the necessary <br />labor and materials to perform the required work as expeditiously as possible. <br />Costs Of Emergency Repairs: Costs incurred in the performance of emergency work shall be paid by <br />the City. The City Attorney shall institute appropriate action against the owner of the premises where <br />the unsafe structure is or was located for the recovery of such costs. In addition, to the extent <br />authorized by statute, the City may provide for the collection of the costs as a special assessment <br />against the property benefited, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 429.101, subdivision 1. (Ord. <br />706, 3 -16 -1998) <br />4 B -2: DEFINITIONS: <br />4 8 -2 -1: GENERAL: <br />(A) Scope: Unless otherwise expressly stated, the following terms shall, for the purposes of this Chapter, <br />have the meanings shown in this Section. <br />(B) Interchangeability: Words stated in the present tense include the future; words stated in the masculine <br />gender include the feminine and neuter; the singular number includes the plural and the plural the <br />singular. <br />(C) Terms Defined In Other Codes: Where terms are not defined in this Chapter and are defined in the <br />building code located at Section 4 -1 -1 of this Title, such terms shall have the meanings ascribed to <br />them as in that code. <br />(D) Terms Not Defined: Where terms are not defined, through the methods authorized by this Section, <br />such terms shall have ordinarily accepted meanings such as the context implies. <br />(t) Parts: Whenever the words "dwelling unit ", "dwelling ", "premises ", "building ", "rooming house ", <br />"rooming unit" or "story" are stated in this Chapter, they shall be construed as though they were <br />followed by the words "or any part thereof ".
